Statement:

  • I am running for Salinas City Council because I truly represent the residents of District 3. I am a businesswoman and college educator with a track record of balancing complex budgets, managing staff, and providing crucial educational
  • resources for our youth. I have owned Salinas Sylvan Learning for the past fifteen years. I have employed more than fifty educators, directors, and staff during that
  • time. Over one thousand students have increased their academic standing and future opportunities by attending Sylvan. I also teach American History at Hartnell College, on campus, and at SVSP. I am a proud CTA member. Unions are the backbone of our community. I am a homeowner, landlord, and renter. I own a home in Issaquah, Washington. I rent out my home at a reasonable monthly rate. In Salinas, I am a renter and I understand the struggle of increasing rents. These experiences have allowed me to see firsthand the challenges many families and young professionals face in Salinas. I love giving back to my community and using my strengths and talents to benefit our community the most.
