Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is celebrated at the International Historic Motoring Awards in London
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance announced that they were awarded Motoring Event of the Year at the annual International Historic Motoring Awards in London Friday.
Concours Chairman Sandra Button acknowledged the 1,200 volunteers as well as the actual luxury cars. “I’m here to represent the cars,” she said. “We can’t do this without them.”
In addition to Motoring Event of the Year, another Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance-affiliated car took home an award. Car enthusiast Fritz Burkard, who won the top award at this year's Pebble Beach Concours, was also named Car of the Year for his 1934 Bugatti Type 59 Sports.
Another one of Concours' Best of Show Nominees from Robert Kudela was named Restoration of the Year for his 1948 Talbot-Lago T26 Grand Sport Saoutchik Fastback Coupé.
Bruce Meyer, a longtime Concours advisor, was recognized for Personal Achievement.
IHMA Organizers say the Motoring Event of the Year award goes to "the world’s best motoring event, whether a festival, concours, one-marque gathering, anniversary celebration or other collector car show."
The 74th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will be on Sunday, August 17, 2025. For more information on the Pebble Beach Concours, or to purchase tickets, visit www.pebblebeachconcours.net.
