SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Salinas Police confirm to KION the officer involved in an overnight collision on Saturday is expected to survive. Newly obtained surveillance video from a nearby business shows the crash. In the video you can see the officer had the lights on just before the crash.

Police say while one of the officers responding to the call was on the way to the location, it was involved in a crash at the intersection of Williams Road and East Market Street.

Photos of the crash show a large amount of debris in the area with the police vehicle smashed up and overturned with the other vehicle suffering damage to its front end.

The officer was transported to the hospital and the occupants of the other vehicle were treated at the scene and released.
