Monterey Bay F.C. parts ways with Head Coach Frank Yallop, Assistant Coach Ramiro Corrales
SEASIDE, Calif. (KION) - After a 7-9-5 start to the season, Monterey Bay F.C. is parting ways with head coach Frank Yallop and assistant coach Ramiro Corrales.
The Union are coming off of a 4-1 loss to Louisville City FC on the road and currently hold the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with 26 points.
Yallop was the club's first head coach in franchise history, leading the team to a 12-4-15 league record in its inaugural campaign. Year two saw the Union finish 11-8-15 in USL Championship play. Monterey Bay's junior season has been a rollercoaster as the club's ranking has fluctuated throughout the campaign.
Salinas native Corrales served as Yallop's assistant coach across those three years in Seaside. Their connection runs all the way back to their time with the San Jose Earthquakes. Yallop coached Corrales and the MLS Cup-winning San Jose Earthquakes in 2001 and 2003.
The duo leaves Monterey Bay F.C. with a record of 33-44-18 across two and a half seasons.
Yallop's successor is expected to be announced next week.
