All lanes of Highway 1 near Dimeo Lane closed after deadly crash in Santa Cruz County

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- CHP officers are at the scene of a deadly crash along Highway 1 near Dimeo Lane.

The CHP confirms one person is dead after crashing their 2007 Chrysler Town & Country into a guardrail around 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The CHP said the car then crashed into a nearby dirt embankment and flipped over, ejecting the driver.

Investigators said the driver died at the scene and only identified the individual as being approximately 35-years-old.
