Hollister Police arrest one juvenile connected to shooting that injured one person
HOLLISTER, CALIF. (KION-TV)- Hollister Police say they've arrested one juvenile in connection to a shooting that happened earlier this month.
According to officials on June 6th around 6:45 p.m., officers responded to the area of Third and Sally
Streets regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old male has been shot in the shoulder. The juvenile was taken to the hospital by his family members.
During the initial investigation on scene, officers found shell casings and determined that a fight broke out between two groups which ended in the shooting.
The Hollister Police Department's detective bureau took over the investigation and learned that the fight involved 4 to 5 people. One of the suspects involved fired a handgun during the incident which struck the male in the shoulder.
Officials say detectives investigated the incident for several days, with the help of the city owned camera surveillance, when they found information to positively identify the shooter.
On June 20th, detectives served a search warrant at the house of the suspected shooter in the city of Hollister. During the search warrant, the suspect, a 16-year-old male, was taken into custody. It was also discovered that the suspect had a firearm in his possession.
The suspect was booked for attempted murder and several firearm charges.
