Monterey man arrested for possession of child pornography, police say

MONTEREY, Calif. (KION-TV)- A 57-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday after he was in possession of child pornography in Monterey.

A Monterey Police Sergeant told KION that Paul Edward Bennett was arrested for allegedly downloading inappropriate images to his device.

Police said they received a cyber tip regarding Bennett's case.

Bennett was arrested at his home in the Montsalas area near Highway 68. Investigators said it is unclear how many images he downloaded.

Police said that Bennett did not produce images.

He was booked into the Monterey County Jail and his bail was set at $20,000.
