City of Monterey approves permits for four cannabis retailers

MONTEREY, Calif. (KION-TV)- On Tuesday night, the City of Monterey approved the permits to four cannabis retailers.

Back in December, there were a total of 13 applications received and things were narrowed down to the top four applicants through a scoring criteria based on seven sections including:

• Qualifications of owners business plan,
• security,
• storage and transportation plan,
• labor and employment,
• local enterprise and engagement plan
• lastly sustainability.

The permits were given to Element 7, Off the Charts, Monterey Responsible and Compliant Retail and  Monterey Pacific Retail Holdings.

The locations were selected by a drawing with:

Element 7 will be located Downtown.

Off the Charts will be located on Lighthouse Avenue

Monterey Pacific Retail Holdings will be located on Wave Street

Monterey Responsible and Compliant Retail will be located on North Freemont Street.
