Disaster Assistance Loans available to businesses and people affected by early February 2024 storms in Santa Cruz County

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV)- The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Service’s announced that businesses and people who live in three counties will be able to get disaster assistance loans.

CAL OES said that the loans will be available for people who affected by winter storms that took place from Jan. 31 to February 9, 2024.

State officials said that the assistance is available to both rural and non-rural areas in Santa Cruz County as well as Butte and Los Angeles Counties.

The U.S. Small Business Administration will be offering low-interest federal disaster loans to businesses and residents affected by severe storms, tornadoes, flooding, landslides.

CAL OES said a virtual disaster Loan Outreach Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at FOCWAssistance@sba.gov or by calling (916) 735-1501. 

Applicants may apply online and receive additional disaster assistance information right here.

CAL OES officials said the deadline to apply for property damage is July 16, 2024. The deadline to apply for economic injury is Feb. 18, 2025.
