One person injured after train hits vehicle in San Martin, firefighters say

SAN MARTIN, Calif. (KION-TV)- CAL FIRE Santa Clara and the California Highway Patrol confirmed that one person was injured after a train hit a vehicle in San Martin.

Firefighters said the crash took place near Monterey Road and Fitzgerald Avenue around 6:19 p.m. Firefighters said that the person was extricated and transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

The Valley Transportation Authority did provide services to passengers who were bound to Gilroy.

We checked in with the California Highway Patrol to get an status update on the person injured and we are waiting to hear back.
