KION-TV

MARINA, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The Marina Coast Water District is inviting the public to a workshop discussing proposed water, sewer and recycled water rates.

The next meeting is on April 17 at 7 p.m. at Carpenters Union Hall at 910 2nd Avenue.

Changes would apply to single and multifamily households plus nonresidential facilities and will vary in the first year.

The water district said, as an example, the first year will see the average single-family household undergoing the proposed rate change: Marina Water would go up $17.33 while Sewer would increase by $0.72. Ord water would see a $14.94 increase while Sewer service would see a $2.50 increase.

Water district staff said the rate changes would support a $50 million investment in water, sewer and recycled water facilities over the next five years. The goal being to renew and replace facilities.
