16-year-old boy arrested after allegedly hitting a juvenile with a motorcycle while evading deputies
KING CITY, Calif. (KION-TV)- A 16-year-old boy was booked into the Monterey County Juvenile Hall after allegedly struck a minor while riding a motorcycle in King City on Friday night.
The Monterey County Sheriff's Office said they observed a boy riding an motorcycle recklessly in the area of Broadway Street at Franciscan Way around 5:30 p.m.
Deputies said the boy failed to yield and entered San Lorenzo Park.
Deputies were trying to stop the and the rider took off and fled across a pedestrian bridge.
Investigators said the motorcycle struck and injured a minor. Deputies said that the boy was last seen entering the Salinas Riverbed which deputies were able to set up a perimeter around.
Officers were able to utilize a drone and locate the boy where he was later arrested on multiple felony charges.
The minor who was struck was transported to a local hospital and was later released for his injuries.
