City of Soledad purchases land to built affordable rental housing units
SOLEDAD, Calif. (KION-TV)- The City of Soledad announced that they are planning to build approximately 100 affordable rental housing units.
The City says they bought nearly five acres of land at 540 Gabilan Drive at a cost over $1.7 million.
City officials said the purchase was fully funded by the successor housing agency and the American Rescue Plan Act.
City officials are now looking for an affordable housing developer for the project by July.
The city is also planning to ask community input for developer qualifications and a conceptual site design.
