Seaside Police arrests man for allegedly robbing a gas station

SEASIDE, Calif. (KION-TV)- A 30-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday night for allegedly robbing a gas station.

Seaside Police said that 30-year-old Gerardo Chavez entered a Rod and Ros Gas Station on the 1800 block of Fremont Boulevard.

Investigators said Chavez pretended to be armed and was able to take money from the cash register and a clerks purse.

Officers were able to arrest Chavez near Cal State University Monterey Bay.

Police were able to recover the money that Chavez allegedly stole.

Chavez was arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail on robbery and stolen property charges. He is currently being held on $80,000 bond.
