Multiple search and rescue teams help rescue a hiker near Sykes Camp in Big Sur

BIG SUR, Calif. (KION-TV)- The Monterey County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team helped rescued a hiker on Friday.

Deputies said the rescue too place near Sykes Camp when a woman had fallen and was unable to move.

The rescue took 21 hours to complete as crews had to battle the treacherous terrain to get to the woman. Big Sure Fire Department and the U.S. Coast Guard assisted in the search.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
