Santa Cruz County opens temporary shelters for people affected by winter storm

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV)- Santa Cruz County announced that they have opened three temporary shelters are now open.

The shelters at Depot Park and the Watsonville Veterans Hall are operating 24 hours a day starting at noon. Both locations will be open until noon on Tuesday afternoon.

The Santa Cruz Veterans Hall will offer overnight shelter starting on Sunday night from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. on Tuesday.

County officials said the shelters could get extended depending on weather conditions.
