Firefighters rescues driver after car goes down embankment in Felton

FELTON, Calif. (KION-TV)- CAL FIRE CZU rescued a driver who drove their car 200 feet down an embankment on Thursday evening.

According to firefighters, the incident occurred just after 7:30 p.m. when a car went down an embankment of Felton Empire Road near Kiln Road.

CAL FIRE said firefighters could not see anything in the dark and heavy rain but they heard faint yelling.

Firefighters were able to determine the location of the vehicle and saw tire tracks in the dirt.

Firefighters set up a rope rescue system and lowered firefighters to find the vehicle landing in a creek.

CAL FIRE was able to rescue the driver of the vehicle where they were transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. None of the firefighters were injured.
