Three suspects arrested after allegedly manufacturing counterfeit money, police say
MARINA, Calif. (KION-TV)- Marina Police have arrested three suspects who allegedly manufactured and passed counterfeit money on Monday afternoon.
Officers said that the incident occurred at a retail business on the 100 block of Beach Road for a report of a woman who was trying to pass a $100 bill.
Investigators said that the woman fled from the scene before police arrived.
Officers were able to locate the suspect's vehicle on the 3200 block of Dunes Drive at a local hotel. Marina Police contacted a man in the vehicle who initially provided a false name.
Investigators said that 35-year-old Daniel Henson of Sacramento was found to have an outstanding warrant in Sacramento County. Marina Police were able to locate the original suspect who was identified as 35-year-old Melanie Rose Dobbs-Mendoza of Sacramento.
Police searched the vehicle and found multiple $100 bills along with controlled substances and controlled substance paraphernalia.
Marina Police said they located a third suspect who was identified as 60-year-old Scott Christian Siebel of Sacramento.
Investigators said Siebel had an outstanding No Bail warrant for counterfeiting out of Sacramento County.
All three suspects were booked into the Monterey County Jail on multiple charges including conspiracy to commit a Felony. Dobbs- Mendoza and Henson were also booked on other charges including Possession of Counterfeit Items and drug violations
