20-year-old man and 15-year-old juvenile arrested after gun was found in car during a traffic stop, police say

WATSONVILLE, Calif. (KION-TV)- Watsonville Police arrested a 20-year-old man and a 15-year-old juvenile on multiple charges after they were found to have a gun in their car during a traffic stop.

Officers said they received a report around 3 p.m. of an armed man inside of a car in the area of Main Street and Ohlone Parkway.

Officers were able to track down and pull the car over on the 1400 block of Main Street. Police were able to find a 9 mm gun under the passenger seat.

Police said that 20-year-old Kevin Alvarez was arrested on multiple charges including having a concealed weapon in a vehicle and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A 15-year-old juvenile was arrested and taken into Santa Cruz County Juvenile Hall for a concealed weapon in a vehicle, minor in possession of a handgun, and violation of his probation.
