Fisherman dies after being swept out to sea along Big Sur coast

BIG SUR, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Big Sur Fire confirms the fisherman who was swept out to sea near Sand Dollar Beach along the Big Sur coast has died.

The initial call for search and rescue teams came out around 12:09 p.m on Saturday.

It was then that Big Sur Fire said a fisherman had fallen off the rocks in the area.

More than an hour after the first call came out, Big Sur Fire said they found the fisherman about 200 yards offshore and that they had died.

No identifying information was provided of the fisherman as crews are continuing to recover the body at this time.
