Significant traffic delays Thursday and Friday along Highway 9 due to road paving

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Caltrans District 5 announced Wednesday that the final striping on Highway 9 from Felton to Ben Lomond will continue and likely prompt significant traffic delays Thursday and Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The specific stretch of road affected will be Highway 9 between El Solyo Heights Drive in Felton through California Drive in Ben Lomond, according to Caltrans.

During this construction, drivers should expect to encounter one-way traffic, and Caltrans is asking people to make necessary plans to reach their destination.

They said that the final striping is one of the last phases of the Highway 9 paving project, which they are hoping to be complete this week during the warm weather.

Caltrans said that the paving project is scheduled to conclude before the end of 2024.
