Las Lomas taco vendor stabbed and robbed; Monterey County Sheriff’s Office

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The Monterey County Sheriff's Office announced Monday that they are currently investigating a robbery that involved a taco vendor being stabbed.

They said that on Sunday around 11:30 p.m., deputies were called to a robbery and stabbing scene at Hall Road and Las Lomas Drive in Las Lomas.

When they got on scene, deputies say that they found a local taco vendor who was suffering from non-life-threatening stab wounds and transported the victim to a hospital.

The victim told the sheriff's office that the suspect approached the taco stand and ordered tacos, then as the victim was making the tacos, the suspect grabbed a knife and stabbed him.

Then, according to the victim, the suspect grabbed the cash and fled on foot.

The sheriff's office described the suspect as a Hispanic male adult in his 20s wearing a red hat and blue flannel shirt. They say he was last seen running towards Sill Road.

Deputies are asking residents in the area to check surveillance systems for possible video footage of the suspect. They are asking anyone with information that could lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect, to call 831.755.5111.
