Fire crews battle commercial structure fire in Bradley
BRADLEY, CALIF. (KION-TV)- Multiple fire crews battled a large structure fire in Bradley late Sunday night.
According to officials, at around 9:40 p.m., fire crews were called out to a commercial structure fire on Bradley Road and Salinas Street. No injuries were reported on scene.
Three residential structures surrounded the building but did not ignite, according to Cal Fire BEU. Once the crews got to the scene, they said the structure on fire was fully engulfed in flames.
"Multiple engines came from different jurisdictions," said Cal Fire BEU PIO, Curtis Rhodes. "Crews did a primary search of the area to make sure there was no need for a rescue."
Rhodes also said that the business owner is the one who called 911 after someone called him to alert him that there may be a fire at his business.
Cal Fire said that the structure was approximately 2,500 square feet and contained heavy machinery as well as other industrial farming equipment.
"We set up a perimeter around the fire as well as a set defense," said Rhodes. "There was some wind and grass, so we kept the fire contained to the building and notified neighbors."
According to Rhodes, the battalion chief was the second person who arrived on scene and eventually the structure collapsed in on itself.
Cal Fire identified some arching from PG&E lines and noted them as a threat.
"Crews were out there until 4 a.m. and investigators are still on scene to try and identify the origin of the fire," said Rhodes.
This is a developing story.
