FEMA deadline for individual disaster assistance has been extended to start of September
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KION-TV)- UPDATE ON JULY 24, 2023 AT 2:26 PM- FEMA officials confirmed that the deadline for individual disaster assistance has been extended to the start of September.
The deadline is now Sept. 1. This is the second time that the deadline for individual disaster assistance has been extended.
14 counties throughout the state are eligible for the extended deadline which include Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties.
FEMA said that the deadline was extended because it will allow storm victims who live in rural areas as well as for residents in counties recently designated for federal disaster assistance.

Deadline for individual disaster assistance has been extended to September 1
UPDATE ON JULY 20, 2023 AT 5:34 PM- The U.S. Small Business Association and FEMA have announced that they will be extending the deadline for online individual disaster assistance to Sept. 1.
SBA officials confirmed that the Disaster Recovery Center at Pajaro Middle School will still close on Thursday night.
The extension applies to flood victims who were impacted by the winter storms in February and March. Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz Counties are all eligible for disaster assistance.

Deadline for FEMA online application is extended until end of July
UPDATE ON JUNE 5, 2023 AT 5:47 PM- Flood victims with losses caused by severe storms and floods that began on Feb. 21 now have until July 20 to register for federal disaster assistance, FEMA announced Monday.
The deadline was set to expire today before the extension. The extension applies to disaster assistance for eligible households and individuals in disaster-designated counties that include Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz Counties.
As of June 2, 2023, more than $33.5 million in federal assistance has been approved for survivors of the designated counties, per FEMA.

- $13,068,169 for housing assistance
- $1,809,170 for approved for Other Needs Assistance
- $18,722,200 SBA disaster loans was approved for homeowners, renters and businesses.
