Fatal crash on Highway 1 near Gorda

GORDA, Calif. (KION) One person is dead after a car crash near Gorda Sunday morning.

The CHP said a Toyota pickup was driving on southbound Highway 1 when the car went off the road about 120 feet near Gorda which is located about 40 miles from Big Sur. The male driver sustained fatal injuries and was the only person in the vehicle.

The CHP said there were no signs of foul play. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.
