Man arrested following police pursuit on Highway 101 and alleged attempted murder
SOLEDAD, Calif. (KION-TV) - A man was arrested on southbound Highway 101 in the Soledad area on Friday night, following a police pursuit.
According to CHP, they were on the lookout for an attempted murder suspect.
Both lanes of Highway 101 in Soledad have reopened after being fully closed when a suspect led Salinas Police on a chase outside of Soledad.
CHP says the suspect fled from Salinas with a 7-year-old girl in the back of the vehicle.
The CHP says it all started in Salinas near Bardin Road. Around 7:30 p.m. Friday, there were reports of a high-speed chase on Highway 101 south going from Salinas to Soledad involving multiple agencies.
Several witnesses report several police vehicles driving quickly on southbound Highway 101 through Salinas and Gonzales.
Authorities successfully took the suspect into custody and separated the child from him for safety.
Officials have not confirmed the identity of the suspect, nor the child, as this is an active investigation
