Road construction updates in Santa Cruz and Monterey counties
SANTA CRUZ, MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV):
In Santa Cruz County
One single lane in both directions of Highway 1 will be closed overnight between 41st Avenue and Soquel Drive, according to Cal Trans.
Cal Trans says that the closure will take place Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., and that drivers can expect delays to take up to 15 minutes.
This closure is part of ongoing work to construct a new bike and pedestrian over-crossing at Chanticleer Avenue, according to Cal Trans.
In Monterey County
Cal Trans says that Rocky Creek Bridge will have daytime traffic control that will involve flagging crews instead of a temporary signal.
This will take place on an as-needed basis from Tuesday through Saturday, according to Cal Trans. They say the reason for this is to allow trucks to deliver equipment and materials to crew members needed for the next phase of construction.
Cal Trans says that drivers can expect delays up to five minutes.
