Panetta currently serves as the representative for the 20th Congressional District. He was first elected in 2016, and prior to that, he served as a Deputy District Attorney in Monterey County. During that time, he said he was assigned to the Gang Team in Salinas. Panetta said he has served on the boards of Rancho Cielo Youth Campus, the Community Foundation for Monterey County and the National Steinbeck Center.
He said he is fighting for immigration reform and is working to protect and provide pathways to citizenship for farmworkers, families and Dreamers. He also advocates for sustainability, accessible health care and equality in the justice system.
Panetta has a law degree from Santa Clara University and an undergraduate degree in International Relations from UC Davis. Before UC Davis, he attended Monterey Peninsula College.

Gorman started Gorman Financial in 2009, and he still has an office in downtown Monterey. Before that, he worked as a broker for several brokerage firms. He has acted as Treasurer of the Armstrong Foundation, committee member for the City of Monterey, President of Montere's Serra Club and President and Treasure of the Cal Alumni Club. He says he also volunteers with the Big Sur Land Trust.
He said he hopes to be the law and order representative and plans to back law enforcement and prioritize personal security. He also seeks to reduce federal involvement and reduce the federal deficit. Other priorities include affordable healthcare and limiting the federal government's role in education.
Gorman holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from UC Berkeley.
