SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV) – Disturbing allegations are coming out of Salinas after investigators say a young woman was raped multiple times. The suspect, Christian Ricardo TInoco Perez was arrested on rape, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and attempted murder charges, according to Salinas Police.

The suspect allegedly held a female victim against her will and forced her to have sexual intercourse with him multiple times overnight in an apartment, according to police. Investigators go on to say that the suspect held a gun to the victim's head and threatened to shoot her.

Both the victim and suspect were farmworkers in Salinas, according to investigators.

The crime was initially reported on June 25, 2024, and police arrested Perez over the weekend. The victim was initially concerned about reporting the crime because of her legal status, according to police.
