Man arrested in deadly 4th of July shooting
SALINAS, Calif. (KION) -- UPDATE 7/6/2020: Salinas Police have arrested a man suspected of killing a 49-year-old man on the 4th of July.
Sergio Magallanes was booked into the Monterey County Jail Sunday.
Salinas Police say Magallanes is believed to have killed Leo Juarez Moreno at the 400 block of Noice Drive in Salinas.
Moreno was found with multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene.
Magallanes is believed to have shot at two other individuals while running from the scene, but neither adult males were hit or injured by gunfire.
Magallanes is booked on murder and attempted murder charges. This is the 4th homicide of 2020 in the city.

Police say they responded to the 400 block of Noice Drive Saturday July 4th at 10pm after getting reports of a shooting victim. When they arrived they say they found a 49-year old man with a number of gunshot wounds.
Paramedics and officers administered CPR, however they were not able to save him.
Investigators say the suspect in the shooting is a Hispanic man last seen wearing a red shirt and blue jeans. He was last seen running away from the scene through an apartment complex.
