60 foot tree falls over, closing a portion of State Route 236 near Acorn Drive

BOULDER CREEK, Calif. (KION-TV) -- CHP Santa Cruz and Caltrans say State Route 236 near Acorn Drive is closed after a tree fell in the area early Wednesday morning.

CHP officers say the tree is about 60 feet and brought some wires down with it some time after 5 a.m.

The reopening for the road is unknown at this time.

PG&E is also reporting some power outages in the same area.

Power is expected to be restored there around noon, according to PG&E.
