Public Safety Power Shutoff in South Monterey, San Benito Counties
MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) - A Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) is in effect in South Monterey County, leaving hundreds of customers without power around the area.
According to PG&E's Outage Map, the scheduled outage happened around 12:40 p.m.
The scheduled outage is due to high winds and dry conditions in the area to prevent wildfires.
The estimated restoration time is Saturday, June 21, at 4 p.m.
Public Safety Power Shutoff scheduled for today in Monterey, San Benito Counties
CENTRAL COAST, Calif. (KION-TV) - Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) begin today as a precaution to prevent wildfires in the area.
Power will be shut off in parts of Monterey County and San Benito County beginning with an estimated start time between 9:30 am and 10:30 a.m.

Much of South Monterey County from Soledad to San Miguel will be without power with an estimated restoration time of 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 21.
The area near the Los Padres National Forest will be without power until 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 21.
In San Benito County, the area around Panoche and Little Panoche Road will be without power until 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 21.

Community Resource Centers have been established near the PSPS areas to charge devices, small medical device charging, blankets, ADA-accessible restrooms and washrooms, provide snacks, and offer free Wi-Fi.
