A debate on the national stage came to the central coast on Thursday night, as a group of 6 January 6th rioters came to speak at an event for The Association of Monterey Bay Conservatives. The event changed venues 3 separate times before beginning at The Portugese Hall in Salinas, the organizers keeping the location private for attendees.

That didn't stop protesters from showing up for the event, bringing signs with anti-Trump slogans and booing from outside the venue. One protester who came to make her voice heard at the event called it "Embarrassing" that local officials would not just allow the event, but that any would ask for the pardoned rioters to come to the central coast.

Thursday night's event was originally set to be at The Native Sons of the Golden West Parlor. A sign was seen posted outside the venue on Thursday, saying that the owners had not been aware of the event and that the "Traitorous January 6th Insurrectionists are here tonight...or ever."
