Hazard advisory issued for Moss Landing battery plant ahead of atmospheric river

Salinas, Calif. (KION) - North County Fire Protection District hazard advisory regarding the Moss Landing Lithium-Ion Battery facility, according to the county of Monterey.

Currently, the situation is stable, and further action is not necessary at this time. Public safety officials are monitoring the potential for flare-ups and additional fires at the Vistra site due to the atmospheric river interacting with the remaining lithium-ion batteries and debris hotspots, according to the county of Monterey.

Fire personnel remain on-site and actively monitor the situation to ensure public safety. If conditions change, further updates and safety instructions will be provided, according to the county of Monterey
