Attempted murder suspect in King City arrested Thursday; King City Police

KING CITY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The King City Police announced Friday that there was an attempted murder in King City on Thursday around 3:05 p.m. near the 100 block of Leeds Avenue.

The suspect, identified as 36-Year-Old Sergio Flores-Merino of King City, had allegedly stabbed a woman inside of a residency in the area multiple times, according to police.

Officers said that they were able to provide medical aid to the woman and that she was transported to a trauma center where she's been listed in critical but stable condition.

According to police, Flores-Merino was found near the residence, was positively identified as the suspect, and then taken into custody on charges of attempted murder, residential burglary and resisting arrest.

Flores-Merino was booked and is now in holding at the Monterey County Jail, according to police.

The police investigated the incident and learned that the victim and suspect are related; the attack originating from a family disagreement.
