Coast Fire fully contained, two firefighters hurt battling fire

BIG SUR, Calif. (KION-TV) -- The Mid Coast Fire Brigade announced the Coast Fire is now 100 percent contained after burning more than a dozen acres off Coast Road along the Big Sur Coast.

The fire held at about 15 acres after sparking across from Andrew Molera on Monday afternoon.

Mid Coast Fire Brigade said two firefighters were hurt battling the blaze.

One firefighter received second degree burns and was taken to a burn center in San Jose for treatment.

Another firefighter suffered a knee injury due to what the agency described as a "rolling rock strike to the knee."

Mid Coast Fire Brigade said the U.S. Forest Service crews from the Brazil Ranch Station will stay on scene to make sure it's safe for the community.
