Greenfield High School senior to be remembered at graduation ceremony on Saturday

GREENFIELD, Calif. (KION-TV)- Graduation is suppose to be a time to celebrate and reflect on a child's accomplishments.

However for one family, the mood is somber because their senior will not be walking across the stage at Greenfield High School.

Jeyson Hernandez passed away in late April due to a medical issue. Many community members wanted the senior to get remembered with a posthumous degree.

But, the South Monterey County Joint High School District said they cannot give out an honorary high school degree due to district bylaws.
