Deputies: Soledad man arrested for alleged kidnapping rape of drugged victim in 2021
KING CITY, Calif. (KION-TV)- The Monterey County Sheriff's Office said they arrested a man Monday for the alleged drugging and rape of a victim in May of 2021.
On May 15, 2021, at 5:09 a.m., investigators responded to Natividad Medical Center for reports of a possible victim that was drugged and sexually assaulted. The incident allegedly took place in a remote location in an unincorporated area outside Gonzales.
Investigators had probable cause to believe the suspect was 21-year-old Uri Deleon Carcamo of Soledad. Detectives then obtained multiple search warrants from a Monterey County Superior Court judge.
On Monday, at around 2 p.m., detectives arrested Deleon Carcamo on the 300 block of Canal Street in King City. He was found with a concealed loaded firearm, said deputies.
Detectives then searched Deleon Carcamo's residence on the 500 block of Ortiz Circle in Soledad.
According to deputies, he was arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail for rape, kidnapping with the intent to commit rape, and other charges. His bail is set at $1,100,000.
Deputies told KION they would not release the gender and age of the victim for confidentiality at this time.
