What is the Cal Fire budget going to look like for the next fiscal year?

CENTRAL COAST, Calif. (KION-TV)-- Cal Fire Chief Joe Tyler has presented the budget for the next fiscal year.

Fighting fires has gotten increasingly costly.

With raging fires in previous years the budget has grown from $800 million in 2005-2006 to $3.7 billion in 2021-2022.

Cal Fire wants to invest in new technology and other forms of service to help them be prepared for the coming fire season.
