Salinas Police identify suspect in 2021 murder on Tuscany Way

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) -- Salinas Police has identified the suspect in a 2021 deadly shooting that happened on Tuscany Way.

On June 26 at about 9:40 p.m., police said they responded to a report of a victim of a shooting and found a 23-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police later identified the victim as 23-year-old Christian Alvarez.

Police say the suspect is now identified as Cesar Alejandro Cisneros of Salinas and there's a warrant for his arrest at this time.

Police believe Cisneros escaped to Mexico immediately after the shooting and his whereabouts are unknown.
