4.3 magnitude earthquake rocks Central Coast

Earthquake hits the Morgan Hill area

PINNACLES, Calif. (KION) UPDATED 6:00 p.m. The U.S. Geological Survey recorded another earthquake in San Benito County Saturday night.

A magnitude 3.4 earthquake was detected 7 miles NW of Pinnacles or 9 miles south-southeast of Paicines Saturday at 9:21 p.m., according to data from USGS.

Over 20 earthquakes occurred in the area along the San Andreas Fault on Saturday.

PREVIOUS STORY:

A 4.3 magnitude earthquake struck 7 miles northwest of Pinnacles or 12 miles northeast of Soledad.

The quake hit at 6:42 a.m. and was followed by several smaller jolts, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake was felt throughout the Monterey Bay Area and beyond
