MOSS LANDING, Calif. (KION) Two people were rescued after their boat capsized near Moss Landing, according to the Coast Guard.

The San Francisco sector said it got a mayday call with a partial location a few minutes before 10 Friday morning. Watchstanders tried to contact them, but did not get a response.

When they did not respond, the watchstanders dispatched a crew from the Station Monterey on one of the Coast Guard boats and diverted a helicopter crew to search the area.

At around 10 a.m., the person responded, saying their boat capsized about two miles off Moss Landing.

The Coast Guard boat got to them about a half hour later and rescued the two people on board. They were taken in to Moss Landing for treatment for possible hypothermia.
