Monterey man arrested in connection to burglary at business on Mandeville Court

MONTEREY, Calif. (KION) A man is facing burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and drug possession charges among others after a report of a burglary.

Police were called to a report of a burglary in process at a closed business on Mandeville Court Saturday. The witness who reported it said they saw someone inside the business taking items before leaving in a pickup truck, and officers were able to find and stop the truck on Highway 68.

The driver of the truck, 47-year-old Scott Russo, was on Post Release Community Supervision for an earlier burglary conviction and had an outstanding felony arrest warrant for burglary.

When he was arrested, police said Russo had burglary tools and cocaine. In the truck, police said they found items taken from the business on Mandeville Court. Russo was booked into the Monterey County Jail.
