Two Soledad veterans give back to future generations

SOLEDAD, Calif. (KION)

If you are strolling through Front Street in Soledad, you will find banners with the faces of many local veterans including Ronald Dunn and Max Schell.

Dunn and Schell both served in the NAVY for more than two decades and are now dedicating their time to mentor and train younger generations who are interested in serving their country.

On this Veterans Day, Dunn and Schell say this is a time for them to reflect on the experiences they had as young men in the service.

Now, they spend much of their days educating teens at the NAVY Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.

“It’s really about nurturing those kids and helping them look and find things so they can find their future," says Schell.
