Trending Cooler, Cloudier
A trough of low pressure will strengthen on the West Coast through mid-week. Cooler temperatures, increased clouds, and even drizzle can be expected as the marine layer rapidly deepens. Temperatures will slowly moderate through the end of the week as the trough weakens.
Overnight: Thickening low clouds with patchy fog and drizzle. Expect coastal lows in the mid-50s with low 50s to mid-50s inland.
Tuesday: Remaining mostly cloudy and cooler on the coast with highs in the 60s to low 70s—warmest on the north side of the bay. Mostly sunny inland with highs in the 70s to mid-90s. Breezy at times in the afternoon. Drizzle possible once again in the evening.
Wednesday: Overcast and drizzly early on the coast and even into nearby valleys. Then, becoming mostly cloudy on the coast with highs in the 60s and mostly sunny inland with highs mainly in the 70s to low 80s. Breezy at times in the afternoon.
Extended: We’ll continue to see increased low clouds on the coast through the end of the week, though temperatures will slowly rise both on the coast and inland. Highs are likely to remain at or below normal, however, while lows will be seasonable to slightly warm.

-Area drought status: Moderate drought for much of Santa Cruz & Santa Clara Counties, Abnormally dry on the east shore of the bay into San Benito County. No drought classification for much of Monterey County outside of the Gabilan Range.
