PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (KION) Hollywood took over Pebble Beach Wednesday for the 3M Celebrity Challenge, and it brought out some big names.

Clint Eastwood and Bill Murray were the team captains, and those names alone are enough to bring out thousands of people. It also helped that the weather was much better than last year.

The fans were out in full force trying to catch a glimpse of some of their favorite celebrities as they played to win big bucks for charities of their choice.

Every year, the teams of celebrities hit the links to score thousands of dollars for their charities.

Minnesota Vikings Tight End Kyle Rudoph is new this year and said it wasn't his best start.

“He just sent somebody to the hospital," said actor Josh Duhamel.

"Yeah…first shot, thankfully he’d had the bag in front of their legs and it hit their bag. But I’m not used to warming up an hour before we go," Rudolph said.

What's fun about the 3M challenge is that it is not about how skilled you are-- it's about the charities, bragging rights and playing Pebble Beach."

“How am I doing today? Well, I’m playing golf at Pebble Beach. Wouldn’t have imagined it. It’s going pretty well for me," Murray said.

For many, the event is a family affair that has become a tradition.

“It’s fun. It’s what we like to do is play golf together. It’s a family thing. Get my dad, grandpa and all three of us go out," said the Maag family.

There was some confidence from the Duhamel-Rudolph duo.

“I think we’re gonna do great. Neither one of us has played much golf ," said Duhamel.

In the end, Team Murray prevailed and took the title back from Team Eastwood.

Every celebrity who played in Wednesday's challenge had money donated to their charity, something that doesn't always happen at the event, so everyone left happy.
