Two Pacifica men arrested in connection to Santa Cruz attempted robbery, marijuana sales
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) Two Pacifica men were arrested in Santa Cruz- one in connection to an armed robbery and the other for alleged possession of marijuana sales- after police saw a disturbance while on patrol.
At around 1 a.m. Tuesday, police were patrolling near Mike Fox Park on San Lorenzo Boulevard when officers said they saw three people arguing and then heard one gunshot. They said one person left and two others stayed behind. Nobody was injured by the gunshot.
Police said one of those who stayed, a Santa Cruz man, was the victim of an attempted robbery. At the scene, officers said they found a loaded unregistered gun, a large amount of marijuana, unregistered gun components and large-capacity rifle and pistol magazines in a vehicle.
The other man who stayed behind, Dillon Mahoney of Pacifica, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana for sales, possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. He is booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.
Officers later found Ryan Mcauliffe of Pacifica, who they believe was the person who left the scene. He was arrested and charged with attempted robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of marijuana for sales, possession of large-capacity magazines and being a felon in possession of a gun. He is also booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.
