Black Friday brings hundreds to Marina shops
MARINA, Calif. (KION) It’s that time of year again, and everyone has something on their wish list this Black Friday. "I had to snag the foot massager. I was like, oh my god, it's usually $200. It's a really good deal. We had to take advantage of that for sure,” said shopper, Kayla Fraiser.
Fraiser was one of the first to snag some deals at Kohl’s in Marina, Friday night. “This is an early Christmas present from myself to my husband,” said Fraiser.
While many question if leaving Thanksgiving dinner early is worth it, others said the savings were too big to pass up.
Fraiser saved a grand total of $383, according to cashier, Octavio Valdovinoz. “It's honestly really satisfying. It helps the customers,” said Valdovinoz.
As many know, the deals are only around for so long. In order to take advantage of the best prices, shoppers waited outside in drizzly conditions before the doors opened at five o’clock. "I waited in line for 45 minutes so I could get a play station or my son,” said shopper, Nicole Spillet.
“There was a short line, but definitely worth the wait for the save,” said shopper, Vanessa Martinez.
For some, it’s not so much about scoring the sweetest save. Some families said Black Friday is simply tradition. “It’s actually just family time, fun time,” said shopper, Angela Huntley.
“It’s a good opportunity to spend time with my dad and my brother. I usually go out with other family. It's extended family time from the holidays,” said Spillet.
