Sheriff’s Office: Man caught trying to pry open doors of Santa Cruz business

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) A man was arrested on suspicion of prowling and attempted burglary after he admitted to trying to open the doors of a business, according to police.

Santa Cruz police said a police sergeant was doing checks on upper Ocean Street and saw the suspect, Jed Sinkler, behind a propane storage box near the front of a Valero Station.

The sergeant saw one of the doors looked like it was partially pried open and said Sinkler admitted to trying to open the doors.

Police said Sinkler had pry bars, a glass cutter and a large rock.
