New interim CEO appointed at Mee Memorial

Mee Memorial Healthcare System said its interim CEO will be leaving this month, and the current Chief Operating Officer will take his place.

R. Michael Hutchinson started as the interim CEO in August 2018, but said his last day is Nov. 15. The COO, Rena Salamacha, will be taking his place after that.

“Mike led the organization during a time of significant challenges and together we have made progress on improving financial health and enhancing services, which has included the recent expansion of the Greenfield Medical Clinic,” said Michael Howard, chair of Mee Memorial’s board of trustees. “We thank him for his service and wish him the best in his retirement.”

Salamacha started at Mee Memorial 10 years ago as the Director of Information Technology but has also worked in executive roles. Before starting at Mee Memorial, she spent nine years in finance and IT in healthcare.

Mee Memorial said the board of trustees is working to find a permanent CEO in the coming months.
